DEFINITIONS
Domain: The set of all possible input values into a function.
D:{all real numbers}
Even Function: A function with a graph symmetric with respect to the y-axis. If you plug in -x for x then if you get the same equation again the it is even.
Odd Function: A function with a graph that is symmetric with respect to the origin. If you plug in -x for x and if you get the exact opposite equation, then the function is odd.
Y-Intercept: The point where the line meets the y-axis.
Linear Function: A function with a constant rate of change and a straight line graph.
f(x)=x
Vertical Translation: A shift which a plane figure moves vertically.
Exponential Function: A nonlinear function in which the x is the exponent.
f(x)=2^x
Range: The set of all possible outputs of a function.
R:{all real numbers}
X-Intercept: The point where the line meets the x-axis.
Absolute Function: A function that is reflected across the y-axis and makes a v-shape.
f(x)= |x|
